-- Sri Lankan naval forces destroyed about 30 boats of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam and attacked its money laundering financial center in the northeast after threatening last month to drive the rebels from the region.
Navy vessels and air force jets attacked the flotilla and the launching base at Mullaittivu late yesterday as the rebel Sea Tigers unit was ``preparing for a clandestine mission,'' the army said on its Web site.
